Empowering Change,
One Moment At A Time.
Therapy for children, teens, families, and adults to strengthen connections and improve relationships with ourselves and others.
Welcome
I am passionate about helping others experience the healing power of connection. In my private practice, I strive to empower children, teens, and adults to find their own voice, advocate for themselves, and navigate the ups and downs of life.
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and provide therapy to individuals and families ranging in age from six through adulthood. I am the director of the William Alanson White Child & Adolescent Externship. I work from an attachment perspective with a focus on attunement and repair. My specialties include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, interpersonal family conflict, school concerns, and parenting.
I received my Ph.D. from the New School for Social Research. I also received specialty training in CBT, DBT, and interpersonal analytic techniques. I completed my training at Bellevue Hospital in out-patient clinics and psychiatric emergency rooms.
Co-Therapist
About Me
Hi, I’m Mitzvah! 🐾
I’m Dr Sorkin’s co-therapist and I’m wagging with excitement to join your in-person sessions. I love cuddles, and I can sit right next to you if you’d like. Or, if you are not in the mood for snuggling, that’s OK. I’ll respect your space.
Full disclosure, I don’t the same degrees as Dr. Sorkin but I’ve gone through my own pawesome training. I’m an excellent listener and I’m always ready to offer a little tail-wag of support if and when you need it.
